Iron City Rods and Customs is owned and founded by Anthony J. Santercangelo. Born and raised in Pittsburgh,PA
I came from a large family that owned an automotive collision shop in the East Side of Pittsburgh. I have always been around building and fixing cars from a very early age. Ever since a young kid, Hotrods have been a huge influential part of my life and my families. Designing, building, and fixing classic cars became a huge passion and my dream as a career and not as a hobby.
A little background. Anthony is an accomplished graduate from The Art Institute of Pittsburgh with a Bachelor of Science in Industrial Design and Mechanical Design Engineering. Soon after graduating college, I became a designer and engineer for numerous companies in the Pittsburgh area. While working full-time as a designer, I still found time to build and restore custom cars on the side. I never gave up my passion for cars.
The business and reputation of building and restoring cars started to grow rapidly. In 2013, I made the decision to make it my sole passion and formed Iron City Rods and Customs becoming a full time business owner. As the business continued to grow, clients began coming in from all over the country. And thanks to our loyal clients, we have been growing bigger and bigger each year.
The name Iron City Rods and Customs is fitting for our custom car business. It is a homage to our beloved city of Pittsburgh where iron and steel manufacturing was an essential part of the historical significance and the fabric of our cars. And, of course, for the city I personally love.
Thank you Pittsburgh!
